Wording for Arm Stiff and Rigid During Street Hypnosis

Reader Question:
When you are out doing street hypnosis, what is the wording you use when you make the subject's arm so stiff that it will not bend?
Sean's Answer
First of all, the "arm stiff and rigid" challenge is best done after the "eye lock" challenge described in the last issue of this newsletter. It is important to become more insistent and authoritative as you go through the challenge. Here is what I say after an instant induction and the eye lock test. "In a moment I am going to pick up this arm [touch] by the wrist. When I do, I want you to make a tight fist and stiffen up that arm. Make it stiff and rigid as an iron bar! [pick up wrist] That's right, stiff and rigid. Lock that elbow! As I count from one to three, make it stiff and rigid as an iron bar! One, lock that shoulder [touch shoulder], your arm is stiff and rigid as an iron bar! Two [touch elbow], locking at the elbow, your arm is becoming stiff and rigid and three [touch wrist], locking at the wrist. Your arm is stiff and rigid as an iron bar. So rigid, in fact that if you were to TRY to bend that arm, the harder you try to bend it, the more stiff and rigid it becomes! TRY to bend it, it becomes STIFFER. Try HARDER, it gets STIFFER. Try HARDER, it gets STIFFER!!! ... In a moment I'm going to tap your hand and when I do, the arm flops down and you go much deeper. [tap] Go much deeper."

Reader Question:
What is the wording you use when you are out doing street hypnosis and want to make the subject's hand stick to the bench?
Sean's Answer
Here is what I say. "In a moment I am going to take this hand and place it on the park bench. I will count to three and as I do, feel your hand sticking tightly to the bench. One, feel that hand sticking tightly to the bench as if it were super glued down there. Two, that hand is welded to the bench, fused to the bench! And three, it's as if that hand and the bench were carved from one single block of wood, one single piece. In fact, if you were to try to lift that hand it would stick even harder. The harder you try to lift it the more it sticks. Try to lift it, it sticks tighter. Try harder, it sticks tighter. Try harder, it sticks tighter."
